Police beat: Thefts at Target over two days

Centerport
  • The owner of a 1991 Honda CX reported it stolen yesterday on Stony Hollow Road.

    Commack
  • On Tuesday, a stereo system and DVDs for a total value of $660 were reported stolen from the Target store on Veterans Memorial Highway. On Wednesday, two GPS units and an air mattress were stolen at the same store. The value placed on these items was $1,050.

  • A resident on Orleans Court reported yesterday that her family’s cars were vandalized. She told police the tires were slashed on a 1999 Nissan Altima and there were scratches and other damage to a 2001 Nissan Maxima and a 1985 Cadillac Eldorado.

  • The owner of a Nissan Quest parked on Veterans Memorial Highway called police yesterday to report that he found all the tires on the car punctured, a windshield broken and the hood scratched.

  • The theft of a baby monitor was reported yesterday at the Babies 'R' Us store on Veterans Memorial Highway.

    Dix Hills
  • A resident on Sugar Maple Court said the lights at the end of his driveway were broken yesterday.

  • The front light was broken yesterday at a house on Wildwood Drive.

    East Northport
  • A camera and the GPS unit were stolen from a car on 9th Avenue yesterday.

  • A side window was broken on a car on 4th Street and the GPS unit was stolen yesterday.

  • A burglary was reported yesterday at a house on Tulsa Street. The homeowner told police she had left the house for only a short time and discovered the burglary when she returned.

    Huntington
  • The law office of Weintraub and Nealy on Elm Street was damaged by vandals yesterday.
