Police Beat: Vandals and Jaguars

The owner of a building on East Jericho Turnpike said it was damaged by vandals on Sunday, Aug. 5.

The owner of The Sparerib Restaurant on Route 25 told police a rolling rack and some shelves were stolen from his fenced-in yard Monday, Aug. 6.

A man on Veterans Road said he saw a person using a screwdriver trying to break into his car today, Aug. 7. When he approached him, the man jumped into a red car and drove off.

The owner of Ralph's Italian Ice reported a burglary today, Aug. 7. He told police two of his trucks were broken into and the cash registers were taken. He also told them the electricity was shut off in one of the trucks causing the ices to spoil.

Huntington Station
A resident on Frog Pond Road called police Monday, Aug. 6, after she found the driver-side window on her car broken and the navigation system missing.

On Monday, Aug. 6, two women shopping at the Lord and Taylor store on Walt Whitman Road found their cars damaged. The driver-side window on one car, a 2006 Jaguar, was broken in the morning and there were scratches on the body of the auto. The driver-side window was also broken on the second car, a 2004 Jaguar. This incident was reported in the evening.

A taxi driver told police he was robbed Tuesday, Aug. 7, on 4th Avenue. He said two men put a gun to the back of his head and took his money, a CB radio and a cell phone.

A Rainer Street resident found a rear window and the antenna on her car broken Monday, Aug. 5.

Two men working at a building under construction on Old Country Road reported Monday, Aug. 6, that plumbing supplies and tools were stolen from the site.
