Police beat: Stolen sneakers used in getaway

Commack: A resident on Hayrick Lane said her car was broken into Aug. 13 and items were stolen.

Commack: Keys for machinery and tools were reported stolen from a truck on Timothy Court Aug. 13.

Commack: On Aug. 13, a car was broken into on Pebble Place and a computer, money, a fire department shield and other ID were stolen.

Commack: On Aug. 13, a man stole a pair of Nike sneakers from the Kohl's store on Crooked Hill Road. The personnel at the store said he put the sneakers on and then ran out of the store.

Fort Salonga: A car was vandalized Aug. 13 while it was at the Fort Salonga Shell gas station on Route 25A.

Greenlawn: A report was made Aug. 13 that vandals threw bricks and broke four windows at the Old Field Middle School on Old Field Road.

Greenlawn: Vandals broke a windshield on a truck on Fenwick Street Aug. 13.

Huntington: A resident on Newfoundland Road said a back window was broken on his car Aug. 13.

Huntington: On Aug. 13 police reported that graffiti with a violent message was found at the Museum at Heckscher Park of Prime Avenue.

Northport: The owner of Cafe 109 on Fort Salonga Road said hanging plants were stolen from his building Aug. 13.
