Police Beat: Hang-up calls and thefts from autos

Commack: A Fairfield Way resident complained to police today that she had received frequent hang-up telephone calls.

Dix Hills: Three neighbors on Westminster Avenue today discovered that their cars were broken into. A wallet and GPS unit were stolen from one, a palm pilot, iPod and the GPS unit from another and no specific items were listed in the police report for the third car.

Huntington Station: A resident on Corlett Place said a tire was stolen from the rear passenger side of her car yesterday. She said a brick was put under the wheel of the auto after the tire was removed.

Melville: A woman shopping at the Waldbaum's store on Route 110 Wednesday told police her pocketbook was stolen from her cart.
