So far this month on Huntington Local we've been introduced to . . .
  • Non-profit angels in Northport.
  • New members of the Arts Council.
  • Some brainy high school scientists.
  • A bookshelf worth of local authors.
  • And candidates for the town board,
    town clerk, receiver of taxes, and county legislature.

    The week so far . . .

    The gloves came off in town races.
    A family signed up in force for daughter.
    We could almost taste the pickle festival.
    A rock violinist is headed for high school.
    And Tiki Barber drew a crowd downtown.

    We met a new adult ed chief.
    We were invited to clean the beach.
    We heard the rebate checks are coming.
    We riffed on John Coltrane’s house.
    We learned about a free flight for some veterans.
    And we saw a new source of dinner on the horizon.

    The week so far . . .

    Little cubes of fish started turning up.
    Life went on without the Mill Dam bridge.
    $4.5 million in improvements to Veterans Park moved forward.
    We heard about fighting hunger with back rubs this weekend . . .
    . . . and with comedy next weekend.
